A press or injection molding tool, comprises a fixed mold half and a movable mold half, with inner projections and/or depressions. A slider can be controlled from outside the tool and is located in a channel. The material to be molded passes between the slider outer surface and the mold inner surface. The slider (8) has differing cross sectional shapes over its longitudinal region within the tool (1). The inlet direction (9) has a larger cross sectional shape (11) while the outlet direction (20) has a smaller cross sectional shape (12). The latter forms a cut back section with respect to the larger shape and the sliding direction. The slider can be moved to its outer position after the molding process. The movable mold half (4) contains one of the slider cut outs, and the slider is initially moved to its inner position.
