<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a density of each printer in a printing system which includes a plurality of printers A-D. <P>SOLUTION: When a density adjustment command is given to a controller 10, density adjustment papers 40A-40D in which identification information (color) indicating of which printer it is outputted and colors for density adjustment are recorded are outputted from the printers A-D. Any paper of the density adjustment papers 40A-40D is set to a densitometer 1. Identification information and the color for density adjustment of the set density adjustment paper are read by the densitometer 1 and given to the controller 10. Density adjustment data obtained from the color for density adjustment is transmitted to the printer specified by the identification information of the density adjustment paper. A density adjustment is carried out on the basis of the density adjustment data at the printer which receives the density adjustment data.
