<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system, an image forming device and an information providing device, which can directly output image data which are transmitted from a terminal with no printer driver, which reduce a time required before the start of output, and which can be easily used by a user. <P>SOLUTION: In a transmission system 100, at the reception of the image data to be printed from a PC 5 or a portable communication terminal, a printer 1 prints the received image data by downloading an application, required for processing the image data, from a download server 3 for offering an application providing service when the application is not stored in the printer 1.
