<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for controlling harmonics of a power distribution line for effectively utilizing an apparatus capacity. <P>SOLUTION: The tolerable value of a system voltage strain factor is set for suppressing harmonics. The target control point of the tolerable value is a system terminal. For acquiring a voltage strain factor which is equal to or less than tolerable value at that point, a harmonics voltage and a harmonics advance invalid current of specific order are detected. Based on the reactance of the power distribution line from the target control point for that order, a harmonics voltage of the target control point is estimated. If the estimated value is out of the tolerable value, a compensation voltage whose phase is opposite to the harmonics voltage of the specific order is generated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
