摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for applying displacement dependency damping to a structure, in which amplitude-dependency damping without frequency dependence can be added to the structure, and stable damping performance can be added to an elastic-plastic material such as a plastic damper. SOLUTION: The displacement dependency damping is applied to the structure by combining a plurality of the elastic-plastic members having different yield displacement one another and arranging the elastic-plastic members between the members with which relative displacement is expected in the structure. The amplitude-dependency damping without frequency dependence can be applied by determining a combination of the elastic-plastic members to be used by means of the following algorithm: (1) the displacement of the top of the structure and a damping constant corresponding to the displacement are set (step 1), (2) correlative displacement of each layer in primary mode is calculated (step 2), (3) rigidity of each elastic-plastic member is calculated (step 3), (4) the damping constant by free vibration after steady excitation is calculated (step 4), (5) the damping constant is compared with the set damping constant and evaluation is made (step 5), and (6) the elastic-plastic members are determined (step 6).
