PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hold-down metal fitting for easily and efficiently connecting an anchor bolt to a column of a building at a site of connecting work and a connecting method between a foundation and the column of the building by making use of the hold-down metal fitting. SOLUTION: The hold-down metal fitting comprises a fixed member 2 to the column, a clamping member 3 to the anchor bolt and a connecting member 4 between both members 2 and 3, the fixed member 2 ia mounted to the upper part of the connecting member 4, the clamping member 3 is mounted to the lower of the connecting member 4, and the connecting method is so constituted that the hold-down metal fitting 1 integrally constituting the whole body, the clamping member 3 and the fixed member 2 are respectively mounted to the anchor bolt and the column by making use of the hold-down metal fitting 1.
