PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and high efficiency semiconductor laser device having a simple structure. SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser device has a cylindrical laser resonator, composed of a quantum well thin film 5. The quantum well thin film 5 has a quantum well structure, in which the blocking layers sandwitches the quantum well layer. When optical stimulation or current injection is conducted, the quantum well thin film 5 generates light which travels over the circumference of the cyclindrical resonator, to generate light resonance state by whispering gallery mode.
