PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a streak image with a high time resolution even with a large strength ratio of pre-pulse to main pulse of the light for synchronization incident on a streak camera. SOLUTION: The streak camera 1 is provided with a streak tube 1 and a light trigger part 12. The light trigger part is provided with a light attenuator 14, a photo switch 16 and a deflection voltage generating circuit 18. The light attenuator is provided with a condenser lens 145 and a rear-side optical absorption part 14b. The optical absorption part is provided with a plurality of supersaturated absorption bodies 142 to 144. When the light transmitting those supersaturated absorption bodies is irradiated on the photo switch, the deflection voltage generating circuit impresses a deflection voltage on the streak tube. Since the light attenuator attenuates only pre-pulses efficiently, a power density ratio of the pre-pulse to the main pulse is lowered. Consequently, the photo switch responds only to the main pulse.
