PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method for colloidal silica-containing water capable of separating colloidal silica from colloidal silica-containing water while reducing the forming amount of sludge. SOLUTION: In the treatment method for colloidal silica-containing water wherein a cationic organic substance is added to colloidal silica-containing water and an anionic or non-ionic polymeric flocculant is subsequently added thereto to perform flocculation treatment and the treated water is subjected to solid-liquid separation, the pH of the colloidal silica-containing water is adjusted to 3-5 and an aqueous solution of the cationic organic substance with a concentration of 0.3 g/L or less is added under stirring.
