The invention concerns poly(ethynylene phenylene ethynylene silylene) polymers comprising an inert spacer in the main chain of the polymer. The invention also concerns methods for preparing said polymers and hardened products obtainable by heat treatment of said polymers. The inventive polymers can in particular be used in matrices for composites.
