PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tread changing device allowing the floor of a vehicle carrying truck to be lowered and flattened. SOLUTION: Right and left wheels 6, 6 are mounted on a pair of swing beams 1, 1, respectively. A beam moving mechanism 5 is used for moving the swing beams 1 to the axial directions of the wheels, whereby a tread is changed without using a conventional expansion axle. In this way, the right and left wheels 6, 6 adopt an independent suspension system with the pair of swing arms 1, 1 and no expansion axle exists between the wheels, and so the floor located between front and rear cross members 3, 4 supported by the swing arms 1, 1 can be lowered.
