PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect components in the printer body against damage by preventing a cartridge not set correctly from being carried into the printer body. SOLUTION: The printer 10 comprises a carriage 31 for setting an ink cartridge 21, a guide rail 41 for guiding the carriage 31 reciprocally between the inside of the body and an exposing position, and a carriage motor 42 for moving the carriage 31 wherein a part 81a abutting against the upper end part of the ink cartridge 21 and stopping it when the ink cartridge 21 reciprocating between the inside of the body and an exposing position is not set correctly in the carriage 31 is provided on the rib surface 81 of a case cover 80.
