PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To furthermore reduce the power consumption for displaying a still picture on a liquid crystal display device provided with a digital memory. SOLUTION: At least two frames from the start of a still picture displaying period are set as write frames of still picture data, so that normal still picture data is written in a DM 18 even in the case that the start times of a memory control signal and a common signal are made longer than a vertical blanking period.
