PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for measuring the concentration of a target substance. SOLUTION: The system for measuring the concentration of the target substance is provided with a detecting container which contains a detecting material making an observable index by a chemical reaction with the target substance when exposed to the target substance and which can read the observable index to obtain the concentration of the detected target substance, a pump which can be engaged to the detecting container and operated so that gaseous sample containing the target substance is drawn into the detecting container thereby exposing the detecting material to the target substance, and an integral temperature indicator which indicates the temperature of the gaseous condition to be sampled.
