PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight waist-adjusting tool enabling waist-adjsuting operation to be made easily and an adjusting belt to be surely fastened and also inert to any metal detector. SOLUTION: The waist-adjusting tool comprises the adjusting belt and a slider. In this tool, the adjusting belt is nearly vertically arranged with a plurality of adjusting projections in the longitudinal direction at regular intervals, the flank and the front face of said slider are provided with a threading part for the adjusting belt and perforations respectively, and a hollow housing space between the perforations and the reverse face is provided with a stopper and a press plate. This tool works as follows. With the adjusting belt threaded through the slider, the press plate is moved to an unfastening position to unfasten the adjusting belt, and after adjusting the length of the belt by moving the slider, the press plate is moved to a fastening position to fasten the adjusting belt.
