PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition for a fin which suppresses generation of ant's nest-like corrosion in a copper pipe of a heat exchanger for an air conditioner and is excellent in hydrophilicity, corrosion resistance and lubricating properties. SOLUTION: The coating composition comprises a hydrophilic resin (A) and a heterocyclic organic compound (B). The hydrophilic resin (A) is one obtained by partially neutralizing with an alkali metal hydroxide an acid group of a quaternary copolymer (a) comprised of a nitrile group-containing monomer (a1), a hydroxy group-containing monomer (a2), a carboxy group-containing monomer (a3) and an alkyl group-containing monomer (a4). The heterocyclic organic compound (B) is one bearing at least two 1, 3-dioxane rings. The fin is obtained by forming a coating film formed of the coating containing the coating composition on the surface thereof. The heat exchanger is obtained by incorporating the fin.
