<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specified image detection method capable of precisely detecting a specified image such as the face of a person. <P>SOLUTION: A vertically added projection vector is calculated to a rectangular area to be retrieved in the face as shown in the upper part of the figure. The obtained vertically added projection vector as shown in the lower part of the figure is compared with a reference vertically added projection vector which is preliminarily stored, whereby it is determined whether the rectangular area corresponds to the part of both eyes or not to detect the face. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
