<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically set a playing key of a Karaoke device through a simple use procedure without using an individual's card nor individual's remote control. <P>SOLUTION: The device has a voice range measurement mode in which the voice range of a user is measured. In this mode, the singing voice of the user from a microphone 26 is analyzed and a voice range classification code corresponding to a voice range classification model that the voice range of the user corresponds to is displayed on the screen of a display 34 to be shown to the user. When a voice range classification code is received from a user through a remote control transmitter 14 or a console panel 18 together with a song request, melody range information on the song is obtained prior to the playing of the song. The obtained melody range information is compared with the user voice range based upon the voice classification code to set a playing key so that the user can easily sing the song. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
