<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing a free formed product by laminating layers of powder forming material, which is solidified according to the specifications. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus is composed of a table 1 descendable (relatively), another powder supply section 7 arranged above the table, a distributing device 8 for distributing the powder disposed on the table so as to give a predetermined layer thickness, and an energy source 10 for partially solidifying the powder in each layer. These components are relatively movable in the horizontal direction. The horizontal movement of the table is derived from a rotational motion about a vertical axis 2. The rotational motion causes a helicoidal motion having a lead corresponding to the thickness of the layer in combination with the descending motion.
