摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost optical element for lateral intensity distribution characteristic alteration of a light beam which has only a little intensity attenuation of a center beam of a light beam to be shaped and which is easy to handle. <P>SOLUTION: An input-side surface is curved in an input area around the optical axis and an output-side surface is curved to shape a light beam which is directed to the input-side surface along the optical axis, namely, shape a light beam having a specified interval behind the optical element to have an output profile with a substantially constant intensity distribution characteristic in a target area around the optical axis; and an input-side surface and/or an output-side surface outside the input area is so curved that the circumferential beam of the light beam is refracted to deviate from the optical axis. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p>
