<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contactless IC card which is thin and inexpensive, and which has excellent physical strength and high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The card is provided with a plurality of intermediate substrates 5 and 6 held between a pair of surface substrates 7. An integrated circuit (IC) 2 to which an antenna 4 is connected in an area of the intermediate substrate 5 is arranged, and transmission and reception of data with an external transmission and reception equipment are enabled.
