<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep engine speed at a target engine speed which secures good fuel economy. <P>SOLUTION: A sun gear 16a of a planetary gear mechanism 16, an engine 10, and a continuously variable transmission 18 and a driving wheel 20 are connected to a generator 14, a carrier 16d, and a ring gear 16b, respectively. When the target engine speed tNe is a ring gear rotating speed Nr or higher, a clutch 28 is fastened to the ring gear 16b to be lock up to the carrier 16d for giving variable speed control to the continuously variable transmission 18 so that the ring gear rotating speed Nr approaches the target engine speed tNe. When the tNe is lower than the Nr, the clutch 28 is released for giving variable speed control to the continuously variable transmission 18 and speed reducing control to the generator 14 so that the Nr approaches the tNe. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
