<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which permits narrowing of the width of black matrices and has a high apparatus ratio. <P>SOLUTION: A first substrate of the liquid crystal display device is provided with gate wiring 1, source wiring 2 which intersects with the gate wiring 1, liquid crystal driving electrodes 5 which consist of a plurality of approximately parallel electrodes connected to switching elements connected to the source wiring 2 and comb-shaped common electrodes 6 which are arranged approximately parallel to the electrodes 5 and are arranged alternately and a second substrate is provided with colored layers 10 arranged in an array form and BMs 9 disposed between the colored layers. Spacers 8 between the substrates come into contact with the first substrate in regions where the gate wiring 1, the electrodes 5 and the electrodes 6 come into proximity with each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
