PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for more securely storing a password that is temporarily stored during one session. SOLUTION: The method for temporarily storing password data is characterized in that, for the password data divided into bytes, information indicating the stored position of each byte is stored in first consecutive memory areas as offset values that do not overlap one another, starting from a predetermined head address, and that the password data divided into the bytes are stored byte by byte in a distributed manner into second consecutive storage areas according to the addresses determined by the offset values, the second consecutive storage areas having a sufficient length starting from the predetermined head address.
