PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate appropriate distortion in a contact part of an intermediate transfer body with a photoreceptor, to prevent the occurrence of transfer deviation, and to appropriately obtain conductivity by using new conductive material. SOLUTION: In the case of imparting a prescribed contact pressure condition to an intermediate transfer body of a double-layered structure, the ratio of the sum of the radiuses of the intermediate transfer body drum and the photoreceptor drum to a distortion recess caused by the contact is brought into a range of 7 to 40 per ten thousand. For this purpose, shape memory resin (elastomer) is used for an elastic layer. Besides, particulates of a non-oxide (boron compound and silicide of 4th, 5th and 6th group A elements of long-form periodic table) are used as conductive agent. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
