PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil end contact cooling rotating electric machine which is excellent in coil end cooling characteristics, durability, and anti-vibration characteristics, and can be more significantly reduced in size and weight but raised in output than before. SOLUTION: The coil end cooling members 1000 and 2000 comprises a flat surface which can tightly contact, for electric insulation, the flat surface at the head part or protruding end of segments S1 and S2, for absorbing heat from the flat surface at the head part or the protruding end.
