PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snow melting device for a roof simply installable on an existing slanted roof, also provided with a function as a snow guard, and having excellent heat efficiency. SOLUTION: In this snow melting device for a roof, a long cylindrical snow melting outer frame body 2 is continuously passed through a plurality of metal fittings 5 composed of suspension-like fitting rods 51 fixed to a roof board surface with nails and screws and an annular frame 52 integrally formed at the lower end of the suspension fitting rod to be disposed substantially parallel to the direction of a ridge on a suitable place of a slanted roof. A linear or columnar heating element 3 is disposed along the direction of drawing the snow melding outer frame body 2 in the center of the longitudinal section of the long cylindrical snow melting outer frame body 2, and the outer periphery of the heating element 3 is filled with a concrete-made thermal storage body 4.
