A bucket (10) is disclosed, which may be connected to a lid (12), by means o f the moulded circumferential rim (33) thereof which clips to a circumferentia l flange (16), extending outwards on the edge of the vessel body (11), whereby , in the clipped position, the free edge (34) of the circumferential lid rim (33) is covered by a region of the vessel circumferential flange (16) and provided with a tab (36), serving for an unclipping lifting of the lid (12) in a partial circumferential region, arranged around the vessel circumferential flange (16), interrupting the same and pivoting relative to the same such th at the edge thereof furthest from the pivot axis (45) is moved away from the vessel body (11) and removed from the locked position thereof which corresponds to the lid clipped position in the line of the vessel circumferential flange (16). According to the invention, such a bucket (10) may be achieved in which the opening mechanism permits an improved handling and by means of which a steadier unclipping lifting of the lid can be achieved, whereby the tab (36) is connected such as to pivot about a pivot axis (45) approximately perpendicular to the horizontal lid surface on a circumferential edge of the vessel circumferential flange (16) and the tab (36) is provided with an inner longitudinal edge with a curved track (40), partially covered by the circumferential lid rim (33), which comes to intera ct with the free edge (34) of the circumferential lid rim (33) on pivoting the tab (36).
