摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance energy efficiency of a lamp unit having broad spectral characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: An optical fixing unit 11 for magenta comprises an Xe lamp 14, and a reflector 18 having a reflective surface 18a coated partially with phosphor 19. Absorption spectrum of the phosphor 19 has a peak in the wavelength region of about 265 nm and emission spectrum thereof has a peak in the wavelength region of about 365 nm (magenta fixing component). Since absorption of magenta fixing component by the phosphor 19 is low, magenta fixing component emitted from the Xe lamp 14 is reflected on the reflector 18 toward a color thermal recording sheet 3. On the other hand, the phosphor 19 absorbs UV-rays in the vicinity of 265 nm in the light emitted from the Xe lamp 14 to excite the magenta fixing component. The color thermal recording sheet 3 is also irradiated with the excited magenta fixing component. The magenta fixing component is thereby increased by an amount excited by the phosphor 19. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
