PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay amplifier that precludes the possibility of generating a noise in a transmission band of an uplink signal in a two-way CATV system. SOLUTION: A mixing distributor 12 divides a downlink signal received at a terminal 11 into a frequency band f1 for a BS broadcast or the like and a frequency band f2 such as a CATV broadcast or the like, and amplifier circuits 13, 14 and an amplifier circuit 16 amplify the signals respectively. Branching devices 23, 24 branch monitor signals from output signals of the amplifier circuits 14, 16 and a mixer 26 mixes the monitor signals and outputs the result from a monitor terminal 22. On the other hand, an amplifier circuit 18 amplifies the uplink signal with a frequency band f3 received at a terminal 21 through the branching device 24 from a mixing distributor 25 and outputs the amplified signal from the terminal 11. In this case, since the downlink signal applied to the branching device 24 is only the signal with the frequency band f2, a magnetic core being a component is not saturated so as not to cause the possibility of producing a noise in the transmission band of the uplink signal.
