<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive monitor light without generating noise for an electric signal to a semiconductor laser. <P>SOLUTION: The module for optical communication comprises a substrate 1, an SiO<SB>2</SB>film 2 formed on the substrate 1, a semiconductor laser 5, a light-receiving element 10 receiving monitor light, and an optical element 9 composed of an insulator for changing the optical path of monitor light mounted on the substrate. Since the light-receiving element 10 is mounted on the optical element 9 located rear the semiconductor laser 5 and a current is supplied to the semiconductor laser 5 from electric wiring, composed of a coplanar line 16 formed on the SiO<SB>2</SB>film 2, the light-receiving element 10 is insulated electrically from the coplanar line 16, and the monitor light can be received without generating noise with respect to the electrical signal to the semiconductor laser 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
