<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake air device causing no impairment of a mounting characteristic even when mounted on a slant engine, and allowing compact installation of a resonator. <P>SOLUTION: A surge tank 4 and an intake pipe 5 are formed by welding an upper shell 3 to an upper part of a middle shell 2. The resonator 10 composed of a communicating tube 8 and a volume chamber 9 is formed by welding a lower shell 7 to a lower part of the middle shell 2. Since a communicating passage is opened-closed by an opening-closing valve 13 arranged in the communicating passage 12 for communicating the surge tank 4 with the resonator 10, the resonator 10 can be compactly housed, and when the resonator 10 is not required, the resonator 10 can be easily omitted by disusing a welding process, so that weight and cost can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
