PHOTO-DYNAMIC TREATMENT FOR REINFORCING VASCULAR PERMEABILITY FOR SUPPLEMENTING DELIVERY OF MEDICINE TO AFFECTED PART TISSUE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a therapeutic effect of a treating agent in the treatment of abnormal tissue of an animal by reinforcing the permeability of vascular structure of the abnormal tissue. SOLUTION: A photo-sensitive agent is a porphyrin derivative photo-sensitive agent for treating the abnormal tissue of the animal. The treatment is a process of introducing the photo-sensitive agent into the blood stream of the animal. The photo-sensitive agent exhibits its action through a process of having better selectivity to the abnormal tissue than that to normal tissue for obtaining the abnormal tissue containing the photo-sensitive agent, and a process of exposing the abnormal tissue containing the photo-sensitive agent to light for activating the photo-sensitive agent and reinforcing the permeability of the vascular structure in the abnormal tissue. The treating agent reaches the abnormal tissue by passing through the vascular structure the permeability of which is reinforced, and affects the abnormal tissue. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
