摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glass in which the content of alkali metal oxides is small and which has a low specific resistance, and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The glass is essentially composed of, by molar percentage, 20-70% SiO<SB>2</SB>, 10-50% TiO<SB>2</SB>+ Nb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>+ SnO<SB>2</SB>+ Ta<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>+ WO<SB>3</SB>+ CeO<SB>2</SB>, 0-50% MgO + CaO + SrO + BaO + ZnO, and 0-30% B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>+ Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, and has a specific resistance at 20°C of≤10<SP>15</SP>Ω×cm. In the method of manufacturing the glass, when Fe is contained in the glass, the glass is manufactured in such a condition that redox expressed by [Fe<SP>2+</SP>]/[Fe<SP>2+</SP>]+[Fe<SP>3+</SP>] becomes≥0.6.
