PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loose-leaf filing instrument which is slender, has a good balance with a loose-leaf sheet and is excellent in feeling of use, even when a relatively small amount of loose-leaf sheets are filed, and does not need a wide width during storing, can reduce its manufacturing cost, and in addition, connects together slender and flexible base bodies with good operability to close filing rings. SOLUTION: Slender first and second base bodies 2 and 3 on which a plurality of half ring-like filing rings 21 and 31 are respectively provided along the longitudinal direction, and a pivoting mechanism 4 for pivoting the base bodies 2 and 3 at one end part in the longitudinal direction of the base bodies 2 and 3, are provided. In a loose-leaf filing tool 1 which can be opened and closed between a closed condition where the base bodies 2 and 3 are fitted and half ring-like filing rings 21 and 31 are mutually butted, and an opened condition where the filing rings 21 and 31 are opened, the filing rings 21 and 31 are raised from each of the outer side faces of the base bodies 2 and 3, and each of the outer side faces 22b and 32c of the base bodies 2 and 3 respectively has protruded parts extending toward the outside of the ring shape when the filing rings 21 and 31 are closed from the raised part of the filing rings 21 and 31.
