<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize miniaturization and cost reduction of a light receiving and emitting element in the light receiving and emitting element, and to provide its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: In the light receiving and emitting element, a light shielding wall is arranged between a light emitting element and a light receiving element which are mounted on a substrate being isolated from each other. The substrate, the light emitting element, and the light receiving element are collectively sealed. The light shielding wall has structure wherein light shielding resin is laminated and formed to a specified height.
