<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method which realizes production of a thin film having higher transparency and more excellent uniformity by finding and utilizing technical conditions for producing a tough thin film in a micell electrolysis method using a thin film structure reinforcing agent. <P>SOLUTION: A hydrophobic substance is made soluble in an aqueous solvent using a micell formation agent consisting of a ferrocene derivative. A thin film structure reinforcing agent is added to the micell solution to obtain a micell solution. The micell solution is subjected to electrolytic treatment to deposit a thin film of the hydrophobic substance on an electrode. At this time, the oxidation potential in the micell solution of the thin film structure reinforcing agent is set to the one equal to or above the half-wave potential of the micell formation agent. Further, the voltage to be applied to the electrode is set to the one with a potential equal to or above the oxidation potential in the micell solution of the thin film structure reinforcing agent.
