PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video reproducing method and a video reproducing apparatus capable of surely seamlessly joining a video image of a reproduction object with high accuracy even when the capacity of a frame memory is less in the case of reproducing the video image so as to ensure a normal video reproducing state at all times. SOLUTION: A decode control section 107 applies decode processing to a GOP comprising frames of a video signal going to be joined in time division at reproduction of the video image so as to attain sure seamless joining with high accuracy by having only to use the capacity of the frame memory by 4 frames at maximum without the need for ensuring the capacity of frame memory by 1 GOP different from prior arts.
