PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance refill frequency while retaining a specified thickness around the ejection opening of an ejection opening plate by decreasing channel resistance without digging a substrate and without making ejection unstable by increasing the nozzle height. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording head comprises a substrate 34 provided with an electrothermal conversion element 31 for bubbling ink, an ejection opening plate 35 in which an ink ejection opening 32 is made, and an ink channel formed between the substrate 34 and the ejection opening plate 35. The ejection opening 32 is arranged oppositely to the electrothermal conversion element 31 while being spaced apart by a specified distance. The ejection opening plate 35 is formed thinner than a level difference part 38 adjacent to the ink ejection opening 32 and forming the ink channel between the ejection opening plate 35 and the substrate 34, except the region of the level difference part 38, with reference to the surface of the the ejection opening plate 35.
