PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device provided with a fixing belt type fixing device, in which a quick start is accomplished by reducing a warming up time and the heat capacity of the belt is made larger for the fixing device. SOLUTION: The image forming device is provided with a fixing device in which an un-fixed toner image formed on a transfer material P is held by a heated fixing belt and a compressing member so as to heat and fix the image. The device is provided with a pseudo-nip section M so that a fixing belt 86 and an un-fixed toner image t are contacted in a condition where practically no pressure is being applied.
