PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working method and device which prevents a display panel from being damaged through heating and pressurizing of a welding jig and which enhances welding reliability, in cases where a joining material and a circuit substrate are welded to the electrode of the display panel in liquid crystal display or plasma display, for example. SOLUTION: A plurality of detectors 11 are installed on the side of a holding base 8 on which a display panel 1 is set up, with the position and attitude of the display panel 1 detected by the detectors. On the basis of the information so detected, a lower welding jig 9 having a movable structure is transferred to a position in contact with the display panel 1. Then, an upper welding jig 10 is lowered, heated and pressurized, so that the electrode 2 is welded to the joining material 3 and the circuit substrate 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
