PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocating compressor capable of effectively reducing pulsing discharge by improving the discharging structure of cooling medium. SOLUTION: The reciprocating compressor comprises a main frame arranged inside a sealing casing in order to support a motor mechanism section, a cylinder block having a compressing chamber joined to the main frame, a cylinder head joining to the cylinder block in such a manner of making the compressing chamber be sealed by providing a cooling medium discharging chamber, a primary discharging muffler arranged at the one side of the cylinder block, a secondary discharging muffler arranged at the other side of the cylinder block, a cooling medium flow-path communicating with both the cooling medium discharging chamber and the primary discharging muffler simultaneously, and a communicating flow-path formed by passing through the cylinder block in order to make both the primary discharging muffler and the secondary discharging muffler be communicated together.
