PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for preventing sliminess exhibiting sliminess-preventing effects not only at the bottom part of a wastebasket contacting with a tablet but also at the surrounding part while keeping the safety of not generating chlorine gas even if being mixed with other chemicals, and having more improved effects. SOLUTION: This volatile agent for preventing the sliminess contains (1) 0.1-10 wt.% copper compound, (2) 0.01-5 wt.% silver compound and (3) 1-48 wt.% essential oil extracted from a plant, and exhibiting bactericidal or antibacterial effects by volatilization as essential components, and is formed into a solid article having properties of gradually being washed away by flowing water in combination with an absorption carrier exhibiting release-controlling properties by carrying the volatile agent. As a result, antibacterial effects, sliminess-preventing effects and effects for preventing the occurrence of malodor are provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
