PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine excellent in productivity and a support member of the same as for the sewing machine fitted via a fitting part projecting from a motor main body. SOLUTION: Two projecting parts 41g and 41h project in opposite directions from the motor main body. One projecting part 41h of them is inserted to a slit 60f, so that moving of the projecting part 41h is regulated to some degree by the slit 60f to prevent inadvertent movement of a pulse motor 41a. When this projecting part 41h is inserted to the slit 60f, it rides over a projecting part 60k projecting backward to push the projecting part 41h forward.
