PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire for improving the high-speed durability and road noise. SOLUTION: In the pneumatic radial tire having a belt reinforcement layer 1 consisting of organic fiber cords on the outer side in the tire radial direction of a belt layer 2, the organic fiber cords are polyvinyl alcohol fiber cords with cyclic polyalcohol derivatives given thereto. Elongation of the polyvinyl alcohol fiber cords is preferably≤2.5% at the loading of 1.67 cN/dtex. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
