PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a pocket of file etc., which increases the adhesive strength of the welding part of a pocket material and hardly causes trouble in its heat welding part, and a method for welding the pocket. SOLUTION: In the structure of the pocket, a weldable substrate 12 constituting a file cover etc., the weldable pocket material 16 which is welded to the surface of the substrate 12 to form the pocket 14, a part inside the edge 16a of the pocket material 16 is welded intermittently to the substrate 12, and part of the welded pocket material 16 flows out from the edge and is welded to the surface of the substrate 12.
