PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for obtaining an excellent coated matter by utilizing an electron beam curing drying method excellent in drying efficiency which saves energy more than hot drying or ultraviolet curing drying in an in-line process, by enabling incorporation of an electron beam irradiation device in a printing machine, a coating device or the like without inflicting a large damage on a base such as paper or a plastic film and without incurring large restrictions on an environment of installation. SOLUTION: This method for forming the coated matter has a process of conveying an object, a process of applying a coating agent to the conveyed object and a process of irradiating the object the coating agent is applied with an electron beam obtained by a vacuum tube type electron beam irradiation device substantially in succession to the process of applying the coating agent.
