<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which prevents fingerprints and dust from sticking to a light transmission layer and does not cause troubles in recording and reproducing. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium has a covering layer 2d consisting of an antifouling agent formed on a reading surface on which a laser beam for performing at least recording or reproducing of information signals is made incident. The polarity term component of the surface energy of the covering layer 2d consisting of the antifouling agent is ≤3.0 (erg/cm<SP>2</SP>).
