<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier cleaner capable of reducing maintenance labor or costs by dispensing with frequent replacement of members for cleaning a carrying surface of a carrier. <P>SOLUTION: In this carrier cleaner, a carrier belt 8 is lowered by a vertically moving mechanism, and the carrier belt 8 gets in contact with a cleaning roller 3. The cleaning roller 3 is further pushed by the carrier belt 8 to get in contact with an agitating member 13. In this state, the carrier belt 8 is driven to simultaneously rotate the cleaning roller 3. Foreign matter P attached to the carrying surface of the carrying belt 8 transfers to an adhesive layer 4 having fluidity on the cleaning roller 3 to be removed from the carrying surface. The foreign matter P transferred to the adhesive layer 4 is agitated by a tip part 13a of the agitating member 13 to be rolled into the adhesive layer 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
