PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus which has a smaller resolution than a nozzle pitch of a recording head without increasing costs and without decreasing a transfer speed of a record medium. SOLUTION: The resolution of the recording apparatus is made smaller than the nozzle pitch while an amount of a minimum feed unit of a paper feed motor is kept larger than the nozzle pitch of the head. A feed amount of one step of a stepping motor 1 is made equal to (an approximately total nozzle number÷scan number±pitch of the resolution÷nozzle pitch)÷N, wherein N is a natural number.
